Our Coaches


Matt is a Crossfit Level One coach who has been training in Crossfit since 2014. His love for the sport lead him to take his level one course in 2015 and he now has aspirations of adding to his resume over the coming year.

He has a background of playing multiple sports at different levels including football, table tennis, running, cycling and more.

Sam found Crossfit in early 2014 through his passion for endurance events including marathons, cycling, ultras and his biggest to date, Ironman Bolton.

He wanted to focus on strength and conditioning to support what he was doing, so he booked on to a Olympic weight lifting course to learn the basics, practising lifts and combining this with his running and cycling. Then a friend asked him to try a workout called Filthy 50 one day and it left him in a pool of sweat on the floor. From that moment he was hooked on the sport of crossfit, and from then continued and practised what he could from the Crossfit main site.

In 2015, 1 year on, he completed his crossfit level 1 trainer course. This allowed him to start coaching what he most enjoys.

James (known as JB in the box) has been doing CrossFit since 2015 after his physio suggested he try it to help his running.

Once he’d learned the basics and started really getting into the varied nature of the workouts, he decided he wanted to learn more about the techniques CrossFit uses and attended the CrossFit Level 1 Coaching course. He has been coaching at CrossFit Fearnaught since 2016 and really enjoys helping people train and improve.

Outside work, and when he is not coaching or training, he enjoys cycling, trail running, triathlon and pretty much anything that involves the outdoors. 


Helen is a Crossfit Level 1 coach and also a Personal Trainer from National Strength and Fitness Organisation. She is currently on the Assistant Coaches course with Strength Education, and is looking to complete her CF level 2 by end of the year. 

Helen comes from a sporting background in a variety of sports, Cross Country running, athletics, marshal arts and eventually settled to cycling &  mountain bike racing. She is very passionate about cycling!


Chris has extensive experience in the fitness industry over a 12 year period. He has taught various group fitness classes and been a personal trainer for 7 years, specialising in weight management and sport specific training to now managing health clubs and coaching CrossFit to the community. 

I found CrossFit mid-2014, hit my first wod – ‘Grace’ and never looked back. I am now gaining experience of competing in various CrossFit competitions, reaching my first finals comp – Pound for Pound early 2016.


Daz is one of our newest members to the coaching staff having taken his Level 1 course in March 2017. He took up Crossfit in 2016 and said he became “addicted” from the start. He has a background from the Armed Forces as well as his current role as a serving Police Officer.

During these times the need to keep fit has been paramount. Daz has a wide knowledge of gym based training and played various sports including Rugby and Football.
He is looking at add to his Crossfit qualifications in the future and pass this knowledge on to the clients.
